I am getting on a bit but I remember so clearly Bill Gates quote from 1995. That Microsoft would never get involved in the Internet and there a host of others, including that 640k of RAM should be enough for anyone. That email spam would be a thing of the past in 2 years.

I think he’s wrong – so wrong. Fiat money will eventually die. Governments will fall but a currency owned by those who hold it – which is what the public blockchain is simply is much more stable. Normal currency is full of corruption. It is printed at will and devalued as such. The blockchain relies purely on math so you don’t have to trust a person, you have to trust an algorithm.
Look I get it, Bill, you think the world worships your Windows operating system. Which in my humble opinion as a 35-year software developer is unstable and terrible, why would you want to store all the software settings in one place? NTFS regularly corrupts on its own and needs defragmenting. Incidentally, even Amazon admit that most of their servers on the AWS cloud are running Linux. But believers in freedom who believe a worldwide currency owned by its holders should also switch to Linux. I run Linux on my PC. Pop Linux. It’s FREE very fast, very stable, I can run all the software I need on it. A lot of games are moving over to Linux now. It comes with a full free office and you can drop it onto an old computer that Windows and Apple may have given up on and it will bring it back to life.
Gates, you need to realise your computer monopoly is over. Your opinion is of someone who thinks he rules the world. Just like those governments who think they own money as a concept. You don’t, we the people are rising up. Bitcoin is more than a currency, it’s a movement. It’s a world without interest and debt, it’s a world where no one person is in control.
NOW is the time for us to rise up. Apple, Samsung – you need to get in on Bitcoin, Microsoft is about to miss the boat big time.
For the rest of us – we need to drop Windows like a stone. To be honest I am even thinking of replacing my Mac OS with Linux. (It is actually a stylised version on BSD Linux).
Why do you think the world’s servers run on Linux?
If you want to try Linux you can boot it on to a USB key and test it out without affecting your computer – you also need to check you can do everything you need on it – for most users it works absolutely fine.
Pop Linux – great for beginners (I use this one)
Ubuntu Linux – also great – I run my servers on this
Oh did I tell you Linux is completely free, office and everything. Note that it’s not M*soft office. But to be honest I prefer it.
