Has Ripple Died? Coinbase and Skrill drop XRP.

In a recent email from Skrill they have followed the Coinbase lead dropping Ripple (XRP) from their portfolio.

We are writing to notify you that we will no longer support XRP on the Skrill Cryptocurrency Service with effect from 10:00 am UTC on 18 January 2021. This is because, following the decision of our cryptocurrency exchange partner Coinbase to suspend trading in XRP, we will no longer be able to fulfil any XRP buy or sell orders.

With effect from 10:00 am UTC on 18 January 2021, you will not be able to buy or sell any interests in XRP using the Skrill Cryptocurrency Service. You will also no longer be able to carry out any P2P Transfers of interests in XRP using the Skrill Cryptocurrency Service. Any Alerts, Automated Orders or Recurring Orders you may have set up in respect of XRP will be automatically cancelled at 10:00 am UTC on 18 January 2021.

If you have not sold any existing interests in XRP before this time, you will be unable to do so until such time as we are able to recommence fulfilment of XRP orders.

We are not able to predict when XRP will be available for trading or the impact on the value of XRP while trading is restricted. In a worst case scenario, the value of XRP could fall to zero.

Any decision to buy or sell an interest in a cryptocurrency rests with you. If you are unsure about whether a transaction involving cryptocurrency is suitable for you and your circumstances, you should contact an independent financial adviser.

All the best, The Skrill Team

This literally means that Skrill may have a solid relationship with Coinbase. But removal of ripple from exchanges creates fear in the market.

At the moment the markets are going through correction and Ripple’s chart is dropping. (4hr chart) for the last 2 weeks.

XRP Ripple

I would recommend looking at Bitcoin for investments at the moment as it is popular but be aware there is new strength in the dollar due to the inauguration of Joe Biden.
