I don’t know how long I’ve had a SWIFT ON DEMAND account, the idea behind it is that everyone gets 100 SWIFTS per day. These can then be used to purchase things on the store.
The last time I visited the store there were some really good offers but it seems to have gone downhill. I bought a knife and some great digital services like web promotion from there for my swifts, but that’s all gone.
Mainly because they now require photo ID verification, I’m really not sure why as far as I can see you can’t convert SWIFT’S into any fiat currency – and I think, people will be put off by this. For a currency to find value it has to have value against something else, other currencies on an exchange, goods or services.
My advice to the Swift people? Games. Build games where people can play with swifts as the currency. Or just find one or two products and services you can offer that create value intrinsically. Without perceived value, a currency is just a number.
So it’s worth getting a swift account and collecting your free swifts, but the community needs to do something to make it worthwhile for people to use.
